Features:
Maxiflex Diving Board 16' Model B The 16' Maxiflex model B (also called Maxi-B) is the diving board that is used in all major diving competitive events in the world. Universities that have a diving program, have the Maxi-B diving boards, as do many high schools. The Maxi-B is slightly lighter in weight, and is said to give a slightly quicker action in the hurdle-step. Divers who practice on the Maxi-B are accustomed to this action, and do not want to adjust to a different timing when they compete away from their practice facility. Warning: The pool where this board will be installed must have diving-well dimensions conforming to U.S. Diving/FINA minimums (or better) regarding depths of water underneath and out ahead of the diving board. Also the pool must meet the U.S. Diving minimums for distance between board and pool side, distance between 2 boards, and height clearance in indoor pools.. The 16' Maxi-B is basically a one piece ribbed extrusion of aluminum alloy 6070-T6, heat treated for a yield strength of 50,000 psi. It has a torsion-box extrusion, an anchor angle, and tip end cap riveted to the basic section. It is tapered from the fulcrum area to the diving tip, and it is tapered from the fulcrum area to the anchor end. The double-taper allows the whole board to arc while flexing, giving it approximately 15% more lift than the 16? Duraflex. The anchor bolts are reinforced underneath by U shaped aluminum pieces: maxi-bolting extrusions. What distinguishes the Maxi-B from the other models is that the diving tip has 189 slots in the metal of the top skin which reduces the weight of the tip-end. Note: another way to determine if you have a Duraflex or Maxi-B is by the serial number on the Duraflex International tag between the carriage bolts: a serial number beginning D990--- is a Duraflex made in 1999, whereas a serial number B990--- is a Maxi-B made in 1999. The board is coated in aqua colored thermal curing epoxy resin. The top surface is finished with a laminate of flint silica and alumina, between coats of epoxy to effect a non-slip surface. The diving board is to be bolted to the diving board stand by 2 carriage bolts 5/8? dia. If the stand is a Durafirm stand, use our bronze board bolts, part #: SF122 5/8" x 3". The underside ribs of the board are protected from direct contact with our metal fulcrum by rubber channels (8) attached to the board with epoxy adhesive.
